Hey, I’m back here on this blog that I abandoned a while back. The reasons are uninteresting but are to do with dropping my web hosting with Yahoo and trying to move my home page direct to Photoshelter. An unintended consequence was wiping the blog that came wrapped up with my web hosting. A bit mean I think. Not only that but when I try to log in direct at WordPress I’m tersely informed that my blog has been archived due to a ‘transgression’.

Never mind. It’s a small price to be free from Yahoo.

What had I previously written about before moving over to WordPress?

One post was about working on my old ( 1989-1991) Cayman Islands transparency scans – about what a shock it was to be reminded how ‘grainy’ that film stuff was. Then having posted the gallery there was quite a surge in visits presumably as a result of a few posts I’d made on Cayman related sites.

Then, there was a post about removing the Education Use license option. This was because teachers were basically not interested and the interest that there was seemed to be from people pretending to be bona fide education users but using dodgy email addresses. True, this site started off with the purpose of providing images for education use but things evolve. Now, Geography Photos is more like an image warehouse distributing images to various agencies around the world. Photoshelter offers great features for this including brilliant ftp and high res downloads for Trusted Clients.

The final post on the old blog was about my hope to start work with a new RM only British stock agency. I didn’t actually mention the name. It’s Loop Images and I’m delighted that they are interested in taking a substantial number of pics from my first submission.

Photoshelter appear to be favouring WordPress in the battle of blog hosting so I’ve changed camp to keep things straightforward.
